Residents enjoyed a summer cookout on Wednesday, thanks to the Friends of the Swampscott Senior Center.
“People enjoy it,” said Kathie Kieser, the president of the group. “It’s a good turnout.”
The Friends of the Swampscott Senior Center served burgers, hot dogs, chips, coleslaw and red-white-and-blue popsicles to the guests. About 80 people joined.
People were so excited for the cookout, some showed up at the Swampscott Senior Center an hour early.
“It’s nice just seeing everybody,” Kieser said. “The Friends just try to help where we can.”
The Swampscott Cultural Council provided entertainment. Jumpin’ Juba, a duet of guitar and standup bass, performed throughout the meal.
