Swampscott Elementary School Halloween Parade was spooktacular this year, bringing the whole community out for some fang-tastic fun.
From superheroes to princesses, robots and astronauts, there was something to make every onlooker grin like a jack-o’-lantern. Among the costumed crowd marched hotdogs, slices of pizza and donuts. Storybook and movie characters stepped right off the pages and the big screen and into the parade, while athletes sprinted by ghostly good spirits. Of course Halloween classics like ghosts and skeletons rattled their way along the route.
Parents lined the sidewalks, cameras and phones at the ready, cheering on their favorite little monsters. Many even got into the spirit themselves, donning witch hats and the occasional vampire cape.
Laughter echoed through the school grounds and onlookers said it was a howling success.
