Children and their families rolled into the high school parking lot Saturday for a wheel-y exciting day of climbing, exploring and honking horns at a Touch a Truck event.
Held on May 18, the event gave children the chance to get up close with a fleet of larger-than-life vehicles from local first responders, the Department of Public Works and construction companies. From fire trucks to dump trucks, kids had the opportunity to climb aboard, check out the controls and learn how the vehicles help keep the community running smoothly.
The event also featured face painting.
Proceeds from Saturday’s event benefited the Class of 2028 and Sora the police dog.
“I love this event,” said 2028 Student Council President Noah Oubala. “We ran it last year and had a great turnout so we couldn’t help but run it again. It’s so great to see all the kids excited to see and learn about all these cool trucks and vehicles.”
