Fish Tales Spotlight: Turtle on a String

Turtle on a String will play at Fish Tales

Four Swampscott High School students will take center stage at the Swampscott Fish Tales: An Evening of Community Storytelling on Saturday, March 28.

Jazz band, Turtle on a String, is back by popular demand. The band is composed of seniors Aria PAce Balliro, Khalil Abraham, Owen Begin and Simon Brown. They will perform throughout the evening, which will also feature six local storytellers.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event,” said Aria. “It is a very cool fundraiser.”

Turtle on a String performed at the Swampscott Tides’ inaugural fish tales event last year.

The event supports the Swampscott Tides, which has been covering the town for the past 10 months. The Swampscott Tides works to ensure readers receive accurate coverage of what’s happening in Swampscott, from School Committee meetings and the town budget to new business openings and community events.

Tickets are now available for the Fish Tales community event, celebrating local storytelling and supporting independent journalism. Kim Carrigan will host the event, with speakers including artist Claire Donnelly, magician Anton Andresen, Boston bass player Fran Sheehan, author and attorney Robert Jauron and former METCO student Naina Alves Varela.
