The Delvena Theatre Company returns to the Swampscott Public Library on Wednesday, September 10, at 6 p.m. with a performance of Bon Voyage, Forever!
The company will stage a live comedic murder mystery set aboard a cruise at the Swampscott Public Library. The evening will feature three actors playing multiple roles, complete with costumes, props, and token prizes. Audience members will be encouraged to interact and become “super sleuths” in search of the murderer.
“Patrons were asking for it,” Reference Librarian and Adult Programmer Dave Archer told the Swampscott Tides. “It was one of the first programs I learned about from colleagues.”
The Delvena Theatre Company, which was founded in 1992, was nominated for five Independent Reviewers of New England awards. The Delvena Theatre Company has premiered Henry V, Pulped., and Stephen King’s stage adaptation of Misery. Since 2003, the company has brought its productions to non-traditional venues, from schools and senior centers to historical societies, libraries, and private organizations.
“This one should be interesting,” Archer said.
This will be the first time the Delvena Theatre Company performs Bon Voyage, Forever! in Swampscott.
