Swampscott Recreation is hosting a “sipping into summer” wine tasting event on Friday, May 16.
From 7 to 9 p.m., attendees aged 21 and over are able to join Maia Gosselin, the owner of Sip Wine Education, at the Senior Center for a taste of wine throughout the year.
“It’s fun,” said Recreation Director Danielle Strauss. “It’s a nice evening.”
The relaxed and informative wine tasting will feature Gosselin’s current favorite selections for enjoying wine at a clambake, sitting by the pool, or relaxing on the beach.
Gosselin has over 15 years of experience within the beverage alcohol industry as an editor, writer, bartender and educator. In addition to Sip Wine Education, she is the managing editor of the Massachusetts Beverage Business, which covers beer, wine and spirits.
She has previously hosted wine tastings in Swampscott, including past events at the Yacht Club.
“Maia’s been doing it for a long time, and she brings us through maybe about six wines and where they come from,” Strauss said.
Light appetizers will also be served.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and they cost $50 per person. To register, visit swampscottrec.com.
