Swampscott DPW Announces Road Milling on Several Streets Monday

DPW's work is never done ||. Brendan Cassidy

The Swampscott Department of Public Works will conduct road milling on Monday, October 5, on several roads throughout town.

Milling is the process of grinding and removing a controlled layer of existing asphalt pavement using a specialized machine. The work will correct surface problems such as ruts and potholes, allowing for a smoother, more even top layer.

The work will be done on the following streets:

  • Essex Street (from Burrill to Burpee)
  • Oceanside Terrace
  • Puritan Road (from the Fish House to Lincoln House Point)
  • Ross Road
  • Winshaw Road

All vehicles must be removed from the street. Milling will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Questions can be directed to the Public Works Office at 781-596-8860.
