The Swampscott High School Athletic Department is forming an Athletic Council to review and recommend potential updates to departmental policies and other aspects of interscholastic athletics.
Community members interested in participating are encouraged to apply. The council will include the athletic director, a school administrator, two high school coaches, two teachers, two parents or guardians, and two community members. Meetings will be held once a month beginning in January, with specific dates and times determined based on member availability. All members must be committed to attending every meeting.
The district currently offers more than 30 athletic teams across three seasons, including football, cheer, swimming, track and field, baseball, softball, and golf. Student user fees for the 2025–26 school year are $450 for high school athletics and $275 for middle school athletics.
The existing athletic handbook covers topics such as fundraising, harassment, sportsmanship, captain selection, and practice attendance.
Those interested in serving on the council may email Director of Athletics Kelly Wolff at kwolff@swampscotttides.k12.ma.us. Applicants should include a letter of interest with their name, phone number, skills, and relevant experience.
Applications are due by Friday, December 12.
