Swampscott police and fire departments responded to a house fire on Erie Street early Wednesday morning. The fire remains under investigation.

The fire was reported on Wednesday, October 7 around 2 a.m at a two-family home. The Swampscott Fire Department extinguished the fire. While the families were displaced, the Swampscott Police Department told the Swampscott Tides there were no reported injuries.

“The circumstances surrounding the fire are currently under investigation,” the Swampscott Police Department said. “No further information is available at this time due to the ongoing investigation.”

The Swampscott Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit are jointly investigating the fire.
