X-Mic, Swampscott High School’s student-run talent show, held its final performance of the 2025–26 school year on Friday, May 22, bringing together the graduating class and the rest of the school on the seniors’ last day of high school.

To start the last show, a video celebrating the seniors was played. Musical acts and karaoke followed.
Junior Sasha Shadari was announced as next year’s X-Mic host, marking the transition from this year’s senior hosts to the next generation of student leaders.
“I’m really excited about being a new host,” said Shadari. “It’s something I have wanted to do since freshman year, and there are many amazing acts.”

To wrap up the show, student band Turtle on a String performed. The band of seniors played the first song they ever performed at an X-Mic, “Candy Wrappers” by Summer Salt, along with “Valarie” by Amy Winehouse.
“I think X-Mic is a great time for the students of Swampscott High School to showcase their talents,” said Kyara Perez.

X-Mic gives students a chance to bond with friends and the rest of the school community while sharing laughs and enjoying time together.
“I feel kind of sad because now, most of the seniors are leaving,” said Kenia Soto. “I liked getting together with my friends to watch the X-Mic. I am excited for next year.”
