Swampscott’s Jared LaLiberte Among Select Clerks to Earn Prestigious State Certification

Swampscott Town Clerk Jared LaLiberte has earned the  prestigious certified Massachusetts municipal clerk designation from the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association.

LaLiberte has served as Swampscott’s town clerk for three years. Prior to his time in Swampscott, he was the deputy town clerk for Lincoln from May 2020 to April 2022 and an aide to then-Gov. Deval Patrick from August 2013 to February 2015.

He has a masters in international relations from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland; a masters in public administration and government from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom; and a masters in government and public policy from Peking University, China.

LaLiberte is an active member of the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association and the North Shore Town Clerks Association.

“His commitment to ongoing professional development includes participation in training programs sponsored by the MTCA and the secretary of the Commonwealth’s elections division,” the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association wrote in a press release. “Jared’s dedication to public service and his pursuit of excellence exemplify the values of municipal leadership in Massachusetts.”
