Swampscott Library’s Free Book Box to Include Personalized Picks. Take-Home Treats

The library will soon offer free curated book boxes || Solange Jain

The Swampscott Public Library will offer a free book box curated to readers’ tastes.

The Bespoke Book Box is a free, curated package featuring a personalized book recommendation and special items for patrons to keep. The service is returning to the Swampscott Public Library, but it will now be offered as a one-time experience rather than a subscription.

To request a box, sign up at https://swampscottlibrary.org/bespoke-book-box-registration/.

Patrons will need to include their name, email, phone number, and library card number.

By submitting the form, patrons give the library permission to access their account “in order to check out materials for your box.”

A limited number of boxes are available each month. Once capacity is reached, patrons will be added to a waitlist and notified when their box is ready.

“When you get home, you’ll get the exciting experience of unboxing the book we picked and your free goodies to keep!” the library wrote in its press release. “Please return the box and book by the end of the month.”

Patrons are encouraged to fill out a feedback form to rate their book selection and share their thoughts.

“I had never heard of the book before, and it was an absolutely perfect selection,” one patron told the library. “I couldn’t put it down.”

To receive another box, patrons can submit the form again and will be placed at the end of the waitlist.

Boxes not picked up by the end of the month will be returned to the shelves, and the next person on the waitlist will be contacted.
