Voices of the Ballot: Housing Authority Candidate

Every candidate — regardless of the office they’re seeking — was invited to sit down with the Swampscott Tides and Big Blue News for a short video interview. In these recordings, candidates respond to three consistent questions and have up to five minutes to share their priorities, perspectives, and vision with voters. The result is a series designed to give the community direct, accessible insight into each candidate in their own words.

Swampscott’s local election will be held on Tuesday, April 28. Residents will elect candidates to a variety of positions, including Swampscott’s new town moderator, two Select Board members, Board of Health member, three School Committee members, trustee to the Swampscott Public Library, Housing Authority member and 108 Town Meeting members.

At the Swampscott Tides, we believe strongly in the importance of an informed electorate. Our goal is simple: to provide a balanced, transparent, and respectful forum that allows voters to make educated decisions. Democracy depends on participation, and participation begins with being informed and engaged.

The following is Housing Authority candidate Ken Shutzer’s video.
