On Wednesday, August 26, the Big Blue Marching Band held a fundraiser at Dockside Pub from 4 to 8 p.m. Customers who mentioned that they were there to support the fundraiser had 10% of their bill donated to the band.
The event also featured a raffle. Attendees could purchase raffle tickets from the band boosters at a designated table for a chance to win a poster board covered with raffle tickets.
“This was just great to get the community together and try to raise money for the band boosters,” said Julie Tapper, a booster for the Big Blue Marching Band.
The restaurant was packed with people supporting the band. At times, there was a wait of about 30 minutes for a table because Dockside was much busier than usual.
“Dockside has been super helpful and welcoming,” Tapper said.
The fundraiser brought together community members of all ages, including adults, children, and members of the Big Blue Marching Band.
“They’ve started band camp this week so it was a nice way to bring the community together,” Tapper said.
