Santa Brings Cheer, Bottomless Brunch to Mission on the Bay

Families filed into Mission on the Bay on Sunday for bacon, eggs and the chance to meet a very special guest: Santa Claus. The jolly ol’ fellow made the journey south to make an appearance at the restaurant’s first brunch with Santa event.

Just like St. Nick’s famous sack of toys, the brunch was bottomless.

Children told Santa what they wish for this year before posing for pictures.

A make-your-own hot chocolate bar attracted many in between helpings of waffles and breakfast tacos.

After the initial rush of photos, Santa Claus walked around the restaurant, passing out candy canes and saying hello to guests.

Mission on the Bay Sales Director Nikii Sigmon said events like this one are a good way to bring the community together during the Holiday season.

“We wanted to do something fun for our regulars and the children,” said Sigmon.

The restaurant plans to keep the event going next year and beyond.

Sigmon said there were a lot of moving pieces to planning the event, which took a lot of work. She gave credit to the kitchen staff for keeping up with the rush of people that flooded the restaurant right when it opened.

“It’s an inexpensive way to enjoy the holidays, good food and spend time together,” said Sigmon.
