The Swampscott Police Department released a notice Tuesday stating that a woman was detained on charges of breaking and entering and disorderly conduct.
Off-duty Sgt. Kevin Reen was alerted by a neighbor on Monday, April 12, after the neighbor received notifications and video footage showing someone entering her home. Although the neighbor was not home at the time, Reen responded to the scene, checked the perimeter, and detained a woman as she exited the house.
The male resident of the home arrived shortly afterward and met Reen “as the woman walked out the front door,” according to the release.
Police logs from Monday, April 12 show a report of breaking and entering at 6:04 p.m. on Ocean Avenue. A white female was going through packages and cameras detected front door motion.
“Officers Todd Nottingham, John Cassidy, Michael Kenyon and Kevin Kaufman responded within moments to this address on the report of a breaking and entering in progress,” the release reads. “There was also a 911 call to Swampscott Dispatch at Lynn PD, which further alerted Swampscott Police to the urgency of this matter.”
The name of the woman who was arrested has not been released.
