Swampscott has issued a snow emergency ahead of a forecasted snowstorm, with a town-wide parking ban in effect from Tuesday, February 10 at 7 p.m. until Wednesday, February 11 at 5 a.m.
All vehicles must be removed from town streets during this time to avoid ticketing or towing. Resident parking will be available at Hawthorne and Phillips Park.
Town officials also reminded property owners that they are responsible for clearing snow from adjoining sidewalks or risk being ticketed.
The Swampscott School District also announced a two-delay to classes on Wednesday.
According to Windy, which uses global, high-resolution regional, and European weather models, Swampscott is expected to receive approximately 1.2 inches of snow between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m.
